Tom loved going on adventures. He always planned to walk around the world.
He thought that it would be great to have someone with him to go on a long journey with him. Before heading out to start his hike, Tom went to an adoption center and was just looking around.
As he was looking around, the volunteers took out this cute little puppy. The canine was about three months old. The moment Tom saw her, he knew he wanted to adopt her.
Tom did, and he named his new companion, Savannah. When Savannah was still small, Tom would transport her in a backpack. The two would camp out every night in a different place.
Now that Savannah is grown, she can’t fit the backpack anymore. She would walk right beside Tom. She is such a strong dog that she could walk for eight hours with no complaints.
These two have been walking around the world for a couple of years now. They have covered over 18,000 miles. Tom and Savannah went to 37 countries and five continents.
They have over 10,000 miles more to go. Tom is very pleased that Savannah went on this adventure with him because she is always there to watch out for him.
One instance was when they were in the Andes. Tom’s legs suddenly became weak, and he fell on the sand. Savannah sat down beside him and patiently waited until he was strong enough to walk again.
That’s just one of the things that Tom loves about Savannah. She is very patient and considerate. The two have formed such a deep connection that Tom can’t imagine being with someone else.
For the rest of their walk, Tom knows that everything is going to be okay because Savannah is with him. Adopting Savannah was the best decision that Tom ever made.
He knows that even after their worldwide walk, they are still going to be the best of friends. He is now pondering on making a statue in her honor.
