When this poor bleeding dog was found by her rescuers, she was on the brink of death and in the middle of a road,
and anyone who had seen her had probably said that it was only a question of when. She had collapsed in a pool of her very own blood, more was coming out of her nose and mouth, and she whimpered like she was just about ready to sleep and not wake up. Fortunately, Animal Aid Unlimited was not about to give up all hope. The rescuer carefully wrapped the dying dog in a blanket and carried her to their vehicle.
Bleeding through the nose and the mouth was commonly caused by swelling in the brain. It wouldn’t be a surprise to discover that this dog received a hard blow to the head. If she wasn’t hit by a speeding vehicle, it was likely that someone had taken their frustrations out on her and gave her a good beating. In any case, her rescuers gave her medicine to help reduce the swelling, as well as IV fluids to remedy the dehydrated state of her body, and it was the beginning of her recovery.
Her first few days at the shelter proved to be difficult.
She was yet to regain the ability to eat, stand, and walk on her own and needed assistance in any and everything that she did.
It took her until the fifth day just to be able to eat her food without being hand-fed and 15 days of assisted walking before she could manage on her own. Nevertheless, her rescuers could see how hard she was trying to get back her life. And in any case, they had already committed to helping her every step of the day.
Today, she is the picture of a healthy, affectionate dog. They named her Whisper.
