Every day, thousands of dogs are abused.
Many of them are left without help while some of them are lucky enough to get out of their misery. These puppies have sad life, without hope. Emma is one of the lucky abused dogs who were able to find help.
Emma spent 14 years of her life neglected until she was dumped by her owners at an animal shelter in North Carolina. She was about to be put down in a few days when a miracle happened. Animals R Family, a rescue group in Connecticut, stepped up to save her. They raised some cash and had a pilot fly her to safety.

For the first time, Emma, the abused dog experienced how it is to have a bed of her own.
She also experienced having toys. All these were new to her. This scared abused dog couldn’t believe that her life could change this much.
Animals R Family founder, Nicole Bruck, told the story about how Emma behaved on her first nights at the shelter. It was heartbreaking. He said that Emma went out for a toilet break. After all that was what she new, this was her familiar medium.

This made Nicole realize that Emma must have spent all her life sleeping in a dirt hole.
This broke Nicole’s heart. She led Emma back to her bed inside the house. With tears in her eyes, Nicole told her that she’d never had to sleep in that dirt again.

They posted on Facebook about Emma’s need to have Tempur-Pedic bed for her arthritis. The bed is quite expensive. Thankfully, another volunteer group, Foster Dogs, Inc., came with a $200 help. Other people also donated, and within 24 hours, they were able to collect enough funds.
Help came pouring in too. An unnamed couple shouldered Emma’s vet bills, people sent her canned foods, and a box of toys. Nicole was deeply touched by the number of people who cared about the neglected dog. She may not have received the love from her former owners, but thousands of people are now making her feel loved.
