Senior dogs are unlikely to get adopted, but a potential adopter wanted to keep one. Humperdinck has spent his life in Villalobos and knows no one else but the people in the organization. No one can say for sure, but people have estimated that he is around thirteen or fourteen years old.
When staff from Villalobos talked to the potential adopter, they laid everything down for her. They informed her about Humperdinck’s health issues. With his age, this senior dog has developed arthritis and kidney issues. His kidney issues are managed with medication and fluids once a week.
The woman said that Humperdinck got all the criteria that she was looking for. She just wanted to help a senior dog live out the rest of her life the best way possible. The woman met Humperdinck and she immediately decided to adopt him.
The Villalobos staff brought her back to the shelter and have him checked at the vet for the last time. In the shelter, a very heartwarming scenario was unfolding. All the staff said goodbye to this cute senior dog, someone who has been with them for years.
There were hugs, kisses, and even tears. It’s amazing to see how much these people care about the dogs that have been under their wing. They know that it was the best for Humperdinck as he gets to have a family of his own. He gets to love the rest of his life with someone who would take care of him.
When the staff brought the senior dog to his new home, she was happy with what she saw. The woman has a big backyard that Humperdinck can run around on. The woman also prepared an orthopedic bed for Humperdinck.
One can see that she prepared for Humperdinck’s coming and that she has plans of spoiling him, which is a good thing. Humperdinck finally has a home. It took a while, but he finally got it.
